Today's post is breaking that old fashion rule that says "...two or more prints should be avoided or can't be worn together". I think if one selects whatever kind of print carefully they end up looking cute and playful. One has to be very mindful of mixing prints appropriately considering the colors on the prints.
My attraction to this outfit was the midi fit of the skirt and the pretty colorful polka dot on the top. Midi skirts are certainly classy and goes a long way in giving a conservative look. Moreover midi skirts can be versatile for occasions. It can be worn to dinners, work , hangouts ,etc depending on how it's rocked. On this occasion, I wore it to an informal meeting.
The top has a white background with navy blue and red polka dot while the skirt has a tannish background with navy blue stripes. No doubt one of my favorite color is red because of its brightness. I decided to pair this skirt and top together as I considered the common colors they both have. Navy blue being a mutual color on both outfit made the pairing more compatible giving an easy flow. I wore my red wedge heels to compensate the red polka dot on the top and my navy blue sling/shoulder bag in completing the look. This shoes helped in creating an informal look for this outfit. Court heels or pumps would have made it look a lot more formal.
Since I was attending a meeting, although it was informal, I chose not to have accessories going on. Wanted to keep the look quite corporate with a twist. I avoided a necklace and still opted for a medium length earrings. Styled my hair giving it wavy curls and sweeping the side fringe to the side for a more professional look. I also love this hairs versatility because u can have either wavy, curly or deep wavy curls giving different looks every time. Am sure by now my personal rule of loud lips and subtle eyes is not news anymore! This is exactly what I did for this look, especially since I had popping bright shoes and lip. I chose light metallic bronze eyeshadow alongside black eyeliner to define my eyes. My Mac Rubby Woo did the trick of the popping red color with the ever calming Sleek's Sahara shade blush.
